Embedded Systems Engineer

What you will do

• —Develop and maintain firmware for Blackstar's custom hardware platforms.
• —Write and optimize device drivers, HALs, and board support packages.
• —Debug complex cross-domain issues spanning hardware, firmware, and application software.
• —Collaborate with hardware engineers on board bring-up and with platform engineers on OS integration.

What we are looking for

• —Strong understanding of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures (ARM Cortex-M/A or RISC-V).
• —Hands-on experience with RTOS environments and bare-metal programming.
• —Proficiency with debugging tools including JTAG, SWD, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• —Willingness to work between Shenzhen and San Francisco as needed.

Nice to have

• —Experience with embedded Linux and kernel driver development.
• —Background in power-constrained systems (wearables, IoT, mobile devices).
• —Familiarity with secure boot or OTA update systems.
